After having taken off the winter and spring terms from Richard Halstead's portrait class, I decided it was time to return. Two terms plus the summer off was a little too long and I was very happy to come back.
John is usually the first model in the fall term and he was this year as well. Here is my unfinished piece. I am continuing to work in graphite and clearly have a lot more to learn.
Our October model was Mari. She was significantly late to every class which tended to set the tone of the group off to a bad start each week. Mari was a good model of mixed heritage, but I was not in synch the two weeks that I was there. I did learn some new technques from Richard, like how to do hair. That part is mostly his work. I'm thinking of using this piece in a collage I have in mind.
(PS: I need to get a new camera and learn to take better pictures of my work.)
