I attended Winter Term in Richard Halstead's Portrait Class. This marked my fourth term studying with Richard. Unfortunately, I missed some classes in January and February due to illness and other commitments. Keep that in mind when you look at this work because two of the pictures are unfinished.
Our model in January was Steve French. This is considered to be unfinished except for the hat on which I spent a couple of hours! Medium for all these portraits is gray Nupastels and Rembrandts on Canson Mi-Tientes White paper.

Helen, a very petite young woman, was our February model. This time I attempted to show more than head and shoulders and again, it is unfinished. Even Richard had difficulty getting her lap to look right. She was almost directly facing me.

Finally in March, John P was the model. He was dressed in a Tyrolean-type outfit. I did quite well on the hat and turtleneck! I struggled getting his face drawn the way I wanted.

Spring term begins on Saturday, April 2nd!
