Steve Ohlrich's Figure Drawing Workshop

I took a week-long figure drawing workshop in August. This was a very intense experience and was made more so by the fact I was class registrar and monitor and floor sweeper. The teacher was Steve Ohlrich who also teaches at various locations in the Chicago area including the School of Representational Art.

This was my first experience with full figure nude drawing. Our model had one pose for the mornings all week and another for the afternoon. That meant we had about 15 hours to work on each drawing. I used vine charcoal throughout, especially because I had to constantly re-measure and check the proportions. Charcoal is a lot easier to erase than pastels. Mallory was a superb model who did not move an eyelash.
