Fall Portrait Class with Richard Halstead

Once again I studied portrait drawing with Richard Halstead during the Fall of 2004. It continues to be a wonderful experience and I look forward to going to class every Saturday ... even as it takes a bus and two el trains to get there.

Our first model in the Fall was John, the same model we drew in September, 2003. Unfortunately, I was not able to finish my drawing of John so have nothing to show for September!

In October, our model was Caila. My drawing looks quite serious as that was her pose. Caila herself was very engaging and funny and aspires to be a stand-up comedienne.

Our model in November was Cecilia who has a lovely and exotic face. Here is a photograph of Cecilia:

Here is my finished drawing of Cecilia. I am using vine charcoal for my initial sketch and then using gray pastels, both Nupastels and the softer Rembrandts.

In December our model was Gloria.
